An Overview

One of the most popular courses on offer at First Aid Accident and Emergency is Provide CPR HLTAID001. We believe that being trained in CPR is extremely important for anyone (regardless of the industry you work in) because you never know when you may have to attempt to revive someone in an emergency.

To help you learn a little more about our CPR course, we’ve created a summary outlining what’s involved.

What’s included?

Throughout our CPR HLTAID001 course, students will get to refresh their CPR skills to ensure they are up to date with the latest standards. The aim of the course is for students to develop an understanding of the fundamental skills and knowledge which can be used to save a life per the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) standards and guidelines. There’s a range of different areas that will be addressed throughout the course, some of these topics include:

  • Two minutes of uninterrupted CPR
  • Legal issues to consider
  • Hygiene
  • DRSABCD life support training
  • Chain of Survival
  • Baby/child CPR
  • Demonstrations using a CPR manikin
  • Drowning management
  • Choking
  • Defibrillator training

What are the requirements?

To be able to participate in our CPR courses, you must be at least 14 years of age. If you are under 18, you will be required to supply a consent form completed by your parent/guardian.

You should have basic communication skills along with literacy and numeracy skills. There is also a basic physical requirement as you will be asked to complete practical assessments like performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR and role-play activities.

The duration of our CPR course is 2.5 hours which is conducted face-to-face.
