This CPR course focuses on providing CPR to a patient and includes the DRSABCD basic life support protocol, legal aspects of First Aid and updates around Defibrillator management for a patient and in the workplace. This is in line with key recommendations from the first aid code of practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines:

CPR Course Entry Requirements

Express CPR Course

Online Learning

This CPR Express course is a blended learning option which combines pre-course online learning and assessment with a short face-to-face session of 1.5 hrs. The online learning is self paced and consists of reading materials, watching videos and completing assessment questions. Generally, participants complete the online learning and assessment in around 1 hour. As this is a web based program you will need a desktop or mobile device with internet connection, and headphones or speakers.

Students must complete the online learning and assessment and gain a 100% passing rate at least 24 hours before the start time of the face to face session.

This course includes the unit HLTAID009 Provide CPR which supersedes the unit HLTAID001 Provide CPR.

Course Duration:

Express CPR Course: 1.5 hours face to face (skills assessment) and approximately 60 minutes online pre-course learning.

Standard CPR Course: 2.5 hours face to face skills and knowledge (no pre-course learning).

CPR Course Entry Requirements

Participants in the Standard and Express CPR course must be 14 years of age and older and require a consent form by legal guardian if under 18 years of age. Participants must have adequate communication skills and understanding to complete the course (English language, numeracy and literacy). If participant does require support please contact our head office so arrangements can be made.

Express CPR Course participants MUST complete face-to-face training within 8 weeks of completing the pre-course online assessment.

Physical Requirement

There is a physical component to our CPR Course held by First Aid Accident & Emergency. Learners will be required to participate in role play activities, practical assessments and be able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.

CPR Course Fee:

$50.00 per student

Course fees are GST free and include all training materials.

Student Resources: FAAE provides a great range of student resources available to all participants which is accessible by clicking here. Additional learning resources specific to a students chosen course can be found in the Learner Portal which becomes available to students upon enrolment. FAAE highly recommends if a participant has no previous CPR experience that they read the CPR Learner Guide available in the Learner Portal prior to attending the face to face training.

Assessment

First Aid Accident & Emergency has the BEST First Aid and CPR instructors, who love teaching in a FUN and interactive way. We provide participants with experience and hands-on knowledge which is incorporated through all of our CPR training courses, to ensure they receive the best possible CPR education.

We have a variety of assessments in the CPR course including: a multiple choice written exam, questioning, role play and interaction with other students and equipment, used in simulated potential emergency situations.

Award and Certification

On successful completion of the required assessments, the participant will receive an A4 electronic Statement of Attainment emailed to their nominated email address for the nationally recognised unit:

The Electronic A4 Statement of Attainment (PDF) will be emailed following the training.

Certification Renewal

CPR competency certification is valid for 12 months as per the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
