Koala Koaches install Defibrillator

Bede Young and Scott Whimpey with new HeartSine 360p Defibrillator at Koala Coaches

Since 1963, Koala Koaches has been a local, family owned and operated Bus and Coach company, based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. They operate a fleet of various sized Buses and Coaches, and have offered a safe and reliable transport service for over 50 years.

The team from Koala Koaches recently had training in first aid from another local and family owned business- First Aid Accident & Emergency, and were compelled to install a defibrillator at their head office in Burleigh Heads.

Bede Young- Koala Koaches Managing director said, “after the training, I really felt the need to have this life saving device installed at our head office, just in case one of our valued staff members became sick”, he also said that he hoped he never had to use the Defibrillator, but felt safer having one there.

The Koala Koaches team also had a workshop to train the staff on the new HeartSine 360P defibrillator and as part of the defibrillator sales and service, Scott Whimpey, also a local Gold Coaster and Managing director of First Aid Accident & Emergency presented the session to the team.

Scott said ” Koala Koaches are leading the way in the transport industry by installing a defibrillator”, Scott went on to say, “it’s so important to have some basic staff awareness and training on the AED”, and was happy to offer an onsite session for the team to show them how to use the defibrillator in an emergency.
