Provide First Aid is the workplace qualification for Australia, this course is delivered in a FUN and relaxed environment, with interactive scenarios so you can practice your skills. This nationally recognised qualification includes Provide First Aid HLTAID003 and Provide CPR HLTAID001.
*All students receive a statement of attainment on the day, when deemed competent.

Previously known as Senior First Aid, Provide First Aid HLTAID003 is the workplace Level 2 Australian standard for the workplace First Aider.
Provide First Aid is a 1 day face to face training course.
Pre-reading of the ABC First Aid guide is required if you are completing this course for the first time.
First Aid Course Description
Objective of First Aid Course:
To provide participants with the knowledge to administer First Aid care and treatment in the workplace or in personal situations. Provide First Aid covers adults, children & babies in a wide range of emergency situations.
Course Content | What we Cover:
- Determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council
- Provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s) and other First Aiders until the arrival of medics or other assistance.
Law and Regulation:
- Duty of care
- Consent & recording
- Negligence
Working knowledge of:
- DRSABCD
- Two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR
- Procedures for dealing with major and minor injury and illness
- Priorities of management in First Aid when dealing with life threatening conditions
- Basic occupational health and safety requirements in the provision of First Aid
- Infection control principles and procedures
- Chain of survival
- Understanding and use of an Automated External Defibrillator ( AED)
First Aid management of:
- Abdominal injuries
- Allergic reactions
- Altered or loss of consciousness
- Bleeding
- Burns
- Cardiac arrest; heart conditions
- Casualty with signs of no life
- Chest pain
- Choking/airway obstruction
- Injuries: cold and crush injuries; eye and ear injuries; head, neck and spinal injuries; minor skin injuries; needle stick injuries; soft tissue injuries
- All bites and stings
- Environmental impact such as hypothermia, hyperthermia, dehydration, heat stroke
- Fractures
- Medical conditions, including, epilepsy, diabetes and asthma
- Near drowning
- Poisoning and toxic substances (including chemical contamination)
- Shock
- Stroke, substance misuse – common drugs and alcohol, including illicit drugs
- Awareness of stress management techniques and available support
Course Entry Requirements
Participants must be 14 years or older. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian which can be accessed by clicking here. There are no qualification pre-requisites for this course however it is recommended that participants have sufficient literacy, language and numeracy skills to successfully complete the course. Examples of these are: basic writing skills, ability to understand English and verbal communication, ability to count to 30, calculate basic ratios, use a timer and tell the time. Physical Requirement
There is a physical component to this first aid course. Participants will be required to participate in role play activities, practical assessments and be able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.

Course Duration:
Up to 3 hours of pre course reading and 7 hours face to face
Standard Course Fee:
$99 per participant (course fees include all training materials)
Student/Concession Fee:
$90 Must be able to present a valid student card/concession card or seniors card on the day. Inability to present valid ID on the day will result in the balance of the standard fee being payable.
Student Resources: FAAE provides a range of student resources available to all participants which is accessible by clicking here. FAAE highly recommends if a participant has no previous First Aid experience that they complete pre-reading of the ABC of First Aid guide prior to attending the face to face training.
Training Assessment
First Aid Accident & Emergency offers a hands on approach to training with progressive assessments throughout the course. Assessments undertaken include: written/oral assessments, practical and role play demonstrations and completion of an incident report form. If a student is deemed not yet competent, additional training and support is available at no further cost.
Award and Certification
On successful completion of the required assessments the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment in the form of a wallet card for the nationally recognised units:
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Certification Renewal
Provide First Aid is required to be renewed every 3 years and Provide CPR is recommended to be renewed every 12 months as per the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
Q: Why is First Aid Important?
A: First Aid knowledge is extremely valuable for both you the individual and your community as it enables you to assist persons who become injured in the event of an accident or emergency situation until help arrives. First Aid skills can be applied in the home, the workplace or in public locations, thus the more First Aid certified people there are in a community the safer it becomes.

Q: How much does your First Aid course cost?
A: FAAE believes in Value for Money and is offering this course on Special for $99 per person.
Our Provide First Aid HLTAID003 training course (which includes Provide CPR and a First Aid kit) Normally costs $110.00 AUD per person and $100.00 AUD for a concessional ticket. There are no additional costs.
Q: How long does an Australian First Aid certificate last?
A: Provide First Aid requires renewal every 3 years from date of issue.
- CPR is valid for twelve (12) months from date of issue. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends CPR to be renewed every 12 months
- Provide and emergency First Aid response in an education and care setting is valid for three (3) years from the date of issue
- As of the 1st of January 2014, Low Voltage rescue including CPR is valid for twelve (12) months as stated in the Electrical Safety Act 2002
- Advance resuscitation is valid for twelve (12) months from date of issue. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends Advance resuscitation to be renewed every 12 months

DRSABCD Movie
First Aid Accident & Emergency have put together an in-depth look at DRSABCD – BLS – basic life support, this video will show you everything you need to know about checking for danger, how to get a response, sending for help, checking airway and breathing including what happens to a patient when they arrest from a heart attack, breaths and compressions and compressions only, using a defibrillator and more.
