We witnessed ourselves last month the importance of having a defibrillator available when one of First Aid students suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of his first aid course. Although Gold Coast resident Peter Carey was extremely lucky to be in the right place at the right time, it was a combination of the first aid training of our staff AND the access to a working and operational defibrillator.
A defibrillator is a machine which administers controlled doses of electrical energy to the heart in the event that the heart has stopped beating. The benefits of having access to one of these machines can be the difference between life and death. At First Aid Accident and Emergency we can appreciate that the cost of a defibrillator is not automatically incorporated into the annual budget which is why we offer two options to choose from and also, for a limited time, we have discounted our defibrillators.
